Isothermal Amplification

Isothermal Amplification
Isothermal amplification encompasses nucleic acid amplification methods that take place at a single temperature and hence do not require thermal cycling.
Such approaches utilise DNA polymerases with strong strand displacement capabilities, which enable the separation of complimentary DNA template strands during polymerisation, without the need for a separate denaturation step. This allows target amplification at a single incubation temperature. An increasing number of applications exploit this powerful combination of enzyme activities to facilitate target amplification under a wide range of conditions, making them ideal for point-of-care diagnostics, field-based detection, and fast diagnostic methods.
PCR Biosystems’ IsoFast® Bst range of products rely on the large fragment of Bst DNA polymerase and offers rapid and sensitive amplification of DNA and RNA targets at a wide range of temperatures.
